I don't love time changes, but I love an "extra" hour of sleep- because I love sleep. I'm actually "in love" with sleep. I could snooze for 16 hours in my plush, comfortable bed if I was allowed to do so.
The kids woke us up at 8:30 this morning with an argument about Pop Tarts and a Dream Lite. I don't know how those two things end up in the same sentence, but apparently its possible in my house.
I actually had extra time to lounge around before church. I even washed my hair. I never wash my hair in the mornings. I have curly hair that needs combating with Keratin spray and a flat iron, so I usually wash my hair in the evenings so I'm not rushed to tame the Mufasa-like lion's mane.
But this morning I actually had time to scrub my scalp. And not rush my make up application. And braid my daughter's hair. And do the dishes. And make the bed. And start a load of laundry. And dust the entertainment center. And use the dust buster on the bunnies behind the piano. With 25 minutes to spare before church.
It was amazing to get a glimpse into the life of a "morning person" because I've never been one.
It was also absolutely wonderful to come home after service to a blank "to do" list and a clean house, with clean, shiny hair.
I'm not thrilled about it being pitch black at 5:30 this evening, but I'm thrilled that I have the rest of the day to enjoy myself and my family.
See you tomorrow.
Obviously, days just need to be 25 hours long. You and your house would always look great!
ReplyDeleteI, too, feel like I have a romantic relationship with sleep. The morning person thing always SEEMS really nice when I do it occasionally, but sleep almost always wins...
ReplyDeleteI was thrilled about the time change yesterday morning when I had to wake up at 7am for a wedding, but when I was at said wedding, in a room full of windows, and the sun started setting at 4pm I was less than amused. I wish we could have one part without the other.
