Well, I didn't discover this America's Next Author contest until 1 day before the deadline, so this is what got cranked out...in a hurry. I know we shouldn't downplay our work, or flat out say it is terrible, but I don't want to be judged on something that I know isn't my best. People, this isn't my best. However, I would still appreciate you taking the time to read this short story, leaving me some feedback-and if you feel it any bit worthy- sharing it and voting for it.
Also, when I submitted this story, the formatting ended up terrible. There are funky paragraphs and indentions, and quite frankly, it looks fairly ugly. I don't know why that always happens to me when I submit things. I think my old Microsoft Word isn't compatible with this high tech world that we live in.
So, now that I've downplayed the content and the aesthetical appearance of the story, I know you are just itching to go read it...
